Thanksgiving Tablescape, Thanksgiving Cheese and Charcuterie Board | Thanksgiving Tablescape by popular D.C. life and style blogger, Alicia Tenise: image of a table set with a burlap runner, gold utensils, eucalyptus leaves garland, gold plate chargers, white china, mini white pumpkins, clear wine glasses, gold and white cloth napkins, and a charcuterie board.

Last year, I hosted Thanksgiving for the first time at my house, and let’s just say that I’ve officially “claimed” hosting rights of the holiday in our family from this point forward. And when I refer to my “family,” I mean me, my mom, and Tom. A small but mighty tribe; and I’m so excited for the Thanksgiving tablescape I have in mind this year!

Undoubtedly, Thanksgiving is going to look a little different this year. I’m thankful that all three of us live in the same state and can safely gather together under the same roof again. However, I know that some of you might be hosting a much smaller Thanksgiving for the first time, which can be a daunting task.

Even though you might have a smaller Thanksgiving dinner than normal, you can still make it special no matter how many folks are in attendance. Today, I’m sharing a few easy tips and tricks on how to craft the perfect Thanksgiving tablescape, as well as some festive cheeseboard tips!

2022 Thanksgiving Tablescape Idea

Bust Out The Nice China & Add Charger Plates

This tablescape wasn’t that expensive, but it sure did look like a million bucks. I purchased my plates and chargers last year from Pier 1, and while sadly, these exact options are no longer in stock, there are a lot of budget-friendly alternatives out there. I loved these festive salad plates pictured above and plan on reusing them again. However, if you want to get the same look, you can always add this set of Thanksgiving-themed plate ornaments on top of a solid salad plate.

I also love a good gold charger plate for thanksgiving, but wood or woven charger plates would also make for a nice festive, fall touch.

Opt for a Natural Table Runner and Garland

I wanted my Thanksgiving tablescape to look amazing all season long. Eucalyptus is widely regarded as one of the best fall decor options, and when I saw this garland, I knew it would be perfect. The green gives this table a small pop of color, which I adore. I paired the eucalyptus garland with a natural burlap table runner, which I think is the perfect, rustic compliment.

Add The Finishing Touches: Pumpkins, Candles, and Festive Napkins

To finish off this tablescape, I knew I had to add some pumpkins. It’s not really Thanksgiving without gourds, right? I did a mix of real and faux mini pumpkins for this tablescape and added them around the garland. I also love the idea of taking a faux pumpkin and writing your guests’ names on it as a place card.

Next up: you’ve gotta add candles. I love mixing candle and tealight holders of different heights and sizes to switch things up. I did buy this candle holder at Target, and I plan on adding it to my tablescape for the big day to make the dinner seem even more elegant.

Lastly, You’ve got to bust out your favorite dinner napkins! You could opt for a gold-trimmed set of napkins or even snag some festive Thanksgiving-themed napkins, depending on how much you want to reuse the napkins.
