A couple of months back, I talked about one of the biggest pressures I put on myself as a style blogger. I fully acknowledge that it’s something internal I put on myself, and never once have my readers made me feel the need to only share “new” things. I’ve really been working on embracing what’s in my closet and limiting my shopping to just things I actually need.
What’s Old Is New Again…Sort Of
Recently I was shopping in my own closet and rediscovered my love for this Kate Spade yellow eyelet dress. After sharing it on my Insta-stories, a few readers pointed out that this dress is actually available now on Rent the Runway! So as the title of this blog post states — what old is new again…sort of!
To be honest, I haven’t used Rent the Runway in years. Not anything against them, but I just don’t find the need for it at this current stage in my life. I work from home and I’m in loungewear 99% of my days. But my friends that do use it for their work wardrobe or vacation style absolutely love it. Many of them do the unlimited option that Rent The Runway offers as well.
One thing I did notice though, which you probably did too with these photos, is that my dress has an additional accessory. When Kate Spade gifted me this dress a few years back, came with a little ribbon tie belt. It was actually attached to the inside back tag of the dress. I didn’t even know was there when I first styled it here on Poor Little It Girl a couple of years back. The Rent The Runway page for this dress doesn’t show the belt, so I can’t confirm if it is or isn’t there. But honestly, you don’t need it. As I mentioned, I’ve styled it without and absolutely love it both ways. if you want a belt, add your own!
