Trend alert: the easy dress | day to night. by chicute
Day Look: Dress. Similar Sandals. Tee. Similar Hat. Bag.
Well, its 10 days into June and that means summer is in full swing. Let’s all pause for a happy dance. Eating outside, popsicles, sunny days, swimming… No wonder we all love summer. Summer is fun! One of my favorite trends for summer this year is the easy dress. It just goes so perfectly with the laid-back feel of the season. Nordstrom has tons of gorgeous pullovers, shirt dresses, and relaxed maxis and I am loving them. It’s such an ideal summer piece; super easy to style, comfortable, great for that hot weather and looks amazing with a pair of sandals. It’s also super easy to take from day to night.
So today. I thought I would show you how I styled this pretty printed pullover for day and night.
For the day time look, I went with an easy slip-on sandal, a casual cross body bag (another favorite trend this year) and of course a Panama hat. It’s so easy to make a dress look intentional, which is great for summer, because you really just don’t have to add much to complete the outfit.
Taking an easy dress from day to night is just as simple as throwing (literally) on a chic leather jacket, a pair of strappy heels and removing the strap from my bag to make it a clutch. Viola! Date night look. I mean, there’s a reason they call it an easy dress. It’s effortlessly chic.
Speaking of effortless. If you’re looking to add one investment piece to your closet this year, I suggest a leather jacket. It’s such a great staple to have, it can be styled so many ways and it’s perfect for cool summer evenings eating on the patio, but you can wear it through the colder months as well. I found this great leather jacket at Nordstrom a couple years ago, but every season I’m impressed by the variety offered in the leather/faux leather jacket department. Which is one of my favorite things about Nordstrom. I like that when I’m looking for a dress, a jacket, or a great pair of shoes, I have so many styles and pieces to choose from. Having lots of really great options (offered in my size) really helps as I curate my closet.
